The V-beam wonder

V-beam laser system is a non-ablative laser treatment specially designed and intended for the treatment of vascular skin conditions such as broken capillaries, facial and leg veins, red acne scars, red birthmarks, rosacea, angiomas, spider veins, stretchmarks, wrinkles, and a lot more.

 V-beam destroys the blood vessels in the vascular lesions as it penetrates the skin, which actually helps in improving the skin's condition.

Since V-beam is non-ablative, it will not wound the skin but may cause some swelling and redness on the treated area. V-beam is very effective in reducing the appearance of skin blemishes but more serious ones might need multiple treatments to see more evident results.

Does Vbeam hurt?

V-beam laser touching the skin is not really painful; anesthesia is not necessary unless requested by the patient. This kind of laser touching the skin has a similar feel of rubber bands snapping against skin but the discomfort is very tolerable. In most procedures, a dynamic cooling device is also used (or sprayed) simultaneous with vbeam-ing to help minimize the sting even more.

Post-Treatment care

After a single treatment, some patients may find results 6-8 weeks after treatment, but may also depend on the severity of the skin condition.

It is also a must to religiously apply sunscreen (SPF 30 up) on the treated area preferably 2 to 3 months after operation to protect it from discoloration and promote better healing. Like any other laser treatments, too much sun exposure decreases the effect of the laser. Some patients may also experience minor bruising, redness and slight swelling but will all dissipate after a few days.

Side effects

There are no serious side effects related to V-beam as long as the post care is done properly and the treatment itself will be conducted by a certified dermatologist or individual. Hyper pigmentation is considered to be normal to those who have received V-beam and natural skin color will return to normal usually after 6 months maximum.
